Viva! to be released 3 December 2016
The “Viva!” CD release show will be held at the Starlight Social Club in Waterloo on Saturday 3 December.
Doors at 7pm. Supporting act, Acquaintance, hits the stage at 8pm with the Red Orkestra taking the stage at 9pm.
New album set for release on 3 December 2016
“Viva!”, The long-awaited 5th studio album from the Red Orkestra will be released on Saturday 3 December, 2016.
The 9-track album, which follows up 2012’s Burning Little Empires, will be available as a CD and digitally. Details of the release to follow.
New album in the mixing stage
Tracking for the forthcoming Red Orkestra record was finished up this past week. Mixing will commence later this month.
Finishing up the album
Johnny’s going back into the studio in June to finally finish up the vocal tracks for the new Red Orkestra record.

Recording update
All the new songs were tracked on the weekend of 10-11 January. Only the vocals remain to be recorded. So, the new album is starting to round into shape. No set release date, yet, though.
Recording announcement
The fifth studio album by Red Orkestra will be recorded this January at the House of Miracles studio in Cambridge, Ontario. Andy Magoffin will be at the helm for the recording; the first time Red Orkestra has recorded without long-time collaborator producer/engineer Steve Payne. While Steve’s deft touch will be missed in the studio, Andy has recorded some of the best in Canadian Indie music (Great Lake Swimmers, The Constantines, Cuff the Duke, Gentleman Reg, Two Hours Traffic, By Divine Right, Jim Guthrie amongst many others) and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience. A Fall 2015 release is expected. More details to follow.
Recording to commence soon
The fifth Red Orkestra full-length album is written and arrangements are complete. Recording will hopefully begin this fall/winter, though the schedule and location for the recordings are still being finalised. Check back for updates.
